Social Studies
Social Studies aims to develop students to be informed, concerned and participative citizens who can make responsible decisions and contribute to society actively. Through Social Studies, students are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and values to be effective citizens by helping them to better understand the interconnectedness of Singapore and the world they live in.
Our students are engaged in a variety of ways during lessons through:
- the use of key understandings to reflect on the main insights that students would gain through the study of each topic;
- the use of inquiry and guiding questions to enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the content;
- emphasis on SPARKLES values to nurture students to be informed, concerned and participative citizens; and
- field-based learning to help students to contextualise their learning in an authentic real-world setting.
