Health Education lesson in session
The Programme for Active Learning (PAL) emphasizes whole-child development, providing all pupils with broad exposure and progressive experiences in Sports and Games as well as Outdoor Education, among other domains. The P1 PAL modules are as follows:
- (Sports and Games) Educational Gymnastics: To develop fundamental psychomotor skills and build self-awareness and confidence in physical ability and body movement.
- (Sports and Games) House Practice Sessions: To immerse pupils in sports and modified games in preparation for the Riverside Sports and Games Day
- (Outdoor Education) The Diversity Garden: To nurture awareness of the natural environment, providing the basis for future environmental education activities.
The school invites community agencies to give talks and stage performances on health-related matters to our P1 pupils.
The signature event for Physical and Health Education is the annual Riverside Sports and Games Day. It is a House-based event that engages the whole school community in celebrating a physically active and healthy lifestyle together in a culture of respect, camaraderie and affiliation.
As part of the “SPARKLING for Life” LIfeskills Development Programme, the P5 Character and Leadership Camp was conducted at the MOE Dairy Farm Adventure Learning Centre. Through outdoor pursuits and collaborative tasks, our pupils learned to be Joyful and Productive Learners and Connected Citizens of Good Character who are confident, independent, disciplined, cooperative, adventurous, resilient, adaptable, caring and responsible.
