CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATIONS
INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY
RACIAL HARMONY DAY
Children commemorated Bio-Diversity week from 24th May to 28th May. Children learn why is it important to conserve the plants and animals that are part of our natural heritage. They learnt ways on how they can play their part in conserving wildlife in Singapore.
On 18th May, we celebrated Hari Raya together! We played some Hari Raya songs for the children to sing and dance to. We also shared with them the significance of celebrating Hari Raya. They played some games and even tried Ketupat cookies!
On 22nd April, our children commemorated Earth Day by learning about the importance of saving the Earth, why and how we can save Earth together. We incorporated activities into the curriculum and daily experiences. The children learnt more about the 3Rs- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and did and activity of using recycled materials to decorate their class photo frames.
WORLD WATER DAY
World Water Day is held on 22nd March. Children commemorated World Water Day throughout the week by learning about the importance of water, why and how we can save water together. We incorporated activities into the curriculum and daily experiences. The children had to problem-solve how to save water during water play and snack time.
TOTAL DEFENCE DAY
On 16th February, our children commemorated Total Defence Day. We shared with the children about Total Defence Day and the importance of it. We showed them videos and introduced to them the Total Defence song too! The children also played games, identified the items which can be found in the first aid kit and solved a puzzle showing the landscape of Singapore.
CHINESE NEW YEAR
11th February 2021, we celebrated Chinese New Year together! It was the first event for the K1 children and they were feeling excited as they wore their red clothes to school. We listened and danced to Chinese New Year songs. We also had a Zoom session to learn more about Chinese New Year and there was a quiz where we could share the answers on our mini whiteboards. Before the end of the celebration, we created our very own paper plate fish using recycled cut-out Hong Baos.
